A large part of the German Wehrmacht autopark during WWII was made up of 3t cargo trucks. One of the most numerous was the V3000S, produced since 1941 in German Ford plants in Cologne. This truck was equipped with a V8 engine and had rear drive only. V3000S trucks were widely used in all German arms of service up to the end of the war on the Soviet-German front, in North Africa, Italy and France. In off-road conditions the rear-drive-only vehicles showed low cross-country capability, so a number of V3000S trucks were produced as Maultier half-tracks. In total about 25,000 V3000S trucks were produced between 1941 and 1946 in German, French and Dutch plants.
