GT-MU is a light multi-purpose armored vehicle running on a petrol engine. It was designed to carry troops, weapons, ammunition and other military cargo over difficult terrain. It can be used to tow artillery pieces, mortars and special trailers up to 2000kg and was often utilized for medical evacuation. Production began in the early 1970s and a few variants followed with improvements to the original.
