The fifth-generation F-35A is more than a ground attack and air defense aircraft; it's actually three aircraft in one and the fighting future for America and ten other allied countries. One variant will replace the Air Force's A-10 and F-16. Another will replace the Navy's F/A 18 while a third will provide a cutting-edge replacement for the USMC's F/A-18 and the AV-8B Harrier.
