One of the first supersonic aircraft in the US Air Force inventory, the Super Sabre entered service in the fifties. The F-version was a twin-seat aircraft originally intended as an instructor/student aircraft to facilitate the Air Force-wide transition from subsonic to supersonic aircraft. Later on, the second seat made the Sabre F-100F perfect for hunting Vietnamese anti-aircraft positions.
