The Sopwith 1F.1 Camel was the most distinguished British biplane fighter in WWI. It was powered by an aircooled radial engine. Achieving outstanding performance, especially in maneuver, speed and climbing, a total of 5490 aircraft were built in several variations. This figure was larger than any other aircraft’s production quantity in England during WWI.
