Cuirassiers were elite heavy cavalry intended for breaking through enemy formations. Their distinctive feature was the cuirass, breast and back steel plates fastened with a brass shoulder strap and waist belt. Russian cuirassiers became famous for their brave attacks in the Battle of Borodino and in the Leipzig Battle of Nations in October 1813. Pieces are suitable for use with the Zvezda Age of Battles expandable board game.
