SR-71A Blackbird Strategic Recon Aircraft 1/144 Dragon
(You save $4.19)
Painting & Assembly Required. Ages 12 & Up.
This futuristic-looking aircraft was designed as a strategic reconnaissance aircraft able to cruise at high altitudes at speeds higher than Mach 3. It was capable of outrunning surface-to-air missiles fired at it! The first of 32 Blackbirds entered US Air Force Strategic Air Command service in 1966, with its first missions taking place over Vietnam. The SR-71A was the standard series production variant and none were ever lost to enemy action, although twelve were destroyed in accidents. These days the Blackbirds' role has been largely taken over by satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles.
