Bobby Allison- Ranier Racing, 1981 Pontiac Lemans "Tuf-Lon" This kit comes with both the qualifying and race day livery.

Bobby Allison and Rainer Racing stunned the racing world when they showed up for the 1981 Daytona 500 with this Pontiac LeMans.  NASCAR had downsized to 110-inch wheelbase cars for the 1981 season and Rainer Racing noticed the LeMans was considered legal under the new rules.  Despite most GM teams using the Buick Regal and Pontiac Grand Prix, Ranier Racing felt the LeMans with its sloped rear window and more aerodynamic front end would be a better choice for the race.  Allison was half a second a lap faster than his nearest competitor during qualifying and dominated his 125-mile qualifying race and most of the 500 before a late race pit stop strategy propelled Richard Petty to his record 7th Daytona 500 victory.
