The M7 was mass produced from April 1942 until July 1945. Self-propelled gun M7 kept the layout scheme of the M3 tank, and later the A4. The crew consisted of seven people, and the main armament was a 105mm howitzer M2A1. Ammo capacity was 57shots. Auxiliary armament was a 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun with an ammo load of 300 cartridges. In a post-war period the M7 gun remained in use with the US army until the mid-1950’s.
