The brothers Reimar and Walter Horten were two of the best-known designers of flying wing aircraft in Germany by the end of WWII. They brought their experience in this field into a special unit which was responsible for the development of tailless all-wing aircraft. Whereas the first machines could only be made as gliders due to difficulties with the jet engine, the second prototype received a Jumo 004B-1 engine. The production of the Horten was soon transferred to the Gothaer Waggonfabrik and the designation was changed to the Go 229. The first of these machines, the Go 229 A-O V3, received Jumo 004-C engines.  Features of this kit include surface details with recessed panel lines, landing gear optionally extended or retracted, a detailed nose and undercarriage, cockpit with instrument panel, two 30 mm cannons, a detailed imitation engine front and jet nozzle area, and decals for two versions.
