The Sikorsky HH-60D Night Hawk was developed as a CSAR (Combat Search & Rescue) helicopter for the USAF. The HH-60D, whose main role is solo rescue missions in combat areas, is capable of pilot rescue operations in any weather conditions without an escort aircraft. It can carry air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles or gun as defense armament. Moreover, the Night Hawk is provided with an in-flight refueling system, large external tanks, FLIR and a Terrain-Following / Terrain Avoidance Radar.
