The Achilles, a British version of the M10 Tank Destroyer, was a capable fighting vehicle with a relatively low silhouette and good ballistic protection thanks to its sloped armor. But it also had its disadvantage. The open topped turret left both crew and ammunition vulnerable to shell splinters.
