The 76mm field gun model 1902-1930 was a modernization of Russia’s 3” field gun model 1902 that took decades to complete. The main difference was the addition of the shield. In the 1920s the chassis was modified and a balancing mechanism was added. The most important modification was the ability to use different barrels (caliber 30 or 40), which significantly increased options of gun usage. It was used by the Red Army as well as armies of the former Russian empire.
