The invasion of Poland occurred in mid-September 1939, and the figures in this set would have participated in the Battle of Tomaszow Lubelski.  The Polish were trying to reclaim this town from German forces, including the 28th Infantry Division, and did have some short-lived success early on but were soon pushed back as more reinforcements joined the enemy.  After a few days of little to no progress, quickly diminishing supplies and swiftly shrinking numbers, the Poles surrendered and the skirmish for Tomaszow Lubelski came to a conclusion.
