The Borei Class Russian SSBN was expected to enter service in the late 1990’s, but the SS-N-28 missile she was armed with ended up scrapped. It was redesigned to carry sixteen RSM-56 Bulava SLBM’s and six SS-N-15 cruise missiles fired through 533mm torpedo tubes. With a displacement of 14,720 tons surfaced and 24,000 submerged, the K-535 is larger than the American Ohio Class. It has a crew of 130 and can go 25 knots when submerged.
