1/57 Scale. Mamoli recreates Blackbeards infamous two-masted corsair with laser-cut poplar plywood keel and ribs, one-piece mahogany deck. Plank-on-bulkhead construction uses flexible limewood strips for the first layer of planking and rich walnut for the second. Fittings include hardwood gratings, blocks and deadeyes, cast metal deadeye strops, belaying pins and lifeboat, blackened metal anchor and miniature brass nails. Ten burnished metal deck cannon and four swivel guns provide fire power to subdue the victims. Silk-screened skull and crossbone flag, two diameters of rigging line and cotton sail material add lifelike detail. Two sheets of plans with clear instructions facilitate construction.
