1985 Ford SVO Mustang 1/24 Revell

Each item was bagged separately. All items were clean of flash. No extra pieces with exception to the new decal sheet which includes the same graphics from the old kit and some new SCCA style graphics. Also new is a Mustang SVO license plate. The 12 piece chrome tree in my kit looked very nice and shiny. You’ll have to remove a few of the items and de-chrome them. Looking at the body I noticed how shallow the panel lines are. There are a few mold lines to clean up. A few of these are in very hard to reach areas of the rear bumper. The hood does have a couple of sink marks located near the rear of the hood. While the body looks good most will have a problem with the spoiler, it will need major reworking to make it look “correct”. The front bumper will be the hardest part to attach as there is really not enough material on the bumper to actually attach it to the body. The headlight buckets attach directly to the front bumper, again with no real positive location points. The side mirrors have no real location to glue them to. The 12 piece engine builds up nice and looks the part, but research this as it isn’t quite correct. You’ll want to strip a few of the chrome pieces to get a realistic look to the engine. The 6 piece chassis is pretty simple and lacks some details. The front k-member is very fiddly as it has no real positive location pins. The k-member is also devoid of any real spring , control arm detail. Rear suspension is a little better. The exhaust is a one piece unit and looks pretty good. The 9 piece interior is basic. The seats look really nice as does the dash and steering wheel. Decals are supplied for the dash gauges. The wheels and tires look great even not having any sidewall detail. 16” Goodyear Gatorbacks are what is in the kit. Some black wash on the wheels will really make them pop. Poor fit of the wheel mounts. Overall this is a nice kit to have back. While it’s not up to today’s standards it will look good on your shelf.
